This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and the rights you have over your personal data. It applies to our website and to every booking made through it. By using our website you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We only collect the information we genuinely need to operate our services:

• Booking details — your name, email address and phone number, together with the guest counts, tour date, time slot and any extras you select. No account is required; these details are collected when you check out as a guest.

• Communications — any messages you send us through our contact form, by email or by phone.

• Analytics data — anonymous usage information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location, device and browser type, collected through cookies as described below.

We use your personal information to:

• Process and manage your tour bookings, including issuing your booking reference and confirmation email.

• Communicate with you about your booking — confirmations, changes, reschedules and important tour-day information.

• Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.

• Send you promotional offers, but only if you explicitly opted in to marketing communications at checkout. You can opt out at any time.

• Improve our website, tours and customer experience using aggregated analytics.

All payments are processed securely by our payment provider, ABSA Spark. When you pay for a booking, your card details are entered directly into the payment gateway's secure environment — we never see, collect or store your card data on our servers.

We only receive confirmation from the payment gateway that your payment succeeded or failed, together with a payment reference that we keep against your booking record. The processing of your card data is governed by the payment provider's own privacy policy.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the website working, to understand how visitors use it and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. Here is the full list of cookies we set:

Essential cookies — required for the website and the booking process to work. They are always set and cannot be switched off.

• ile-aux-cerfs-tours-session — keeps your browsing session and booking in progress together. Lasts for your browsing session, up to 2 hours.

• XSRF-TOKEN — protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Lasts for your browsing session, up to 2 hours.

• cookie_consent — remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics and marketing cookies. Lasts 6 months.

Analytics & marketing cookies — optional cookies set by third-party services:

• Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics 4 — _ga (2 years) and _ga_* (2 years) distinguish visitors and collect anonymous statistics about page visits, traffic sources and on-site behaviour, which help us improve the website.

• Meta Pixel — _fbp (3 months) and _fbc (3 months) measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and may be used to show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.

Every provider we work with is bound to handle your data securely and only for the purpose we share it for.

You remain in control of your personal data. Under the Mauritius Data Protection Act you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

• Correction — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.

• Deletion — ask us to delete your personal data where we no longer need it to fulfil a booking or meet a legal obligation.

• Marketing opt-out — withdraw your consent to promotional communications at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and include your booking reference where applicable.

We keep booking records — including the guest details attached to them — for as long as they are needed to operate the tour, handle any follow-up enquiries and meet our accounting and legal obligations in Mauritius.

After that period, booking records are deleted or anonymised. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of Google Analytics 4 and is never linked back to your booking details by us.
